Towards the end of 2017, we held the Rip View Shield, the club’s handicap singles tournament with Ann Drayton the winner and Gail Stocker runner up.
Our “Come and Try” for Seniors Week was great fun with 22 visitors enjoying the game and a big afternoon tea! Five visitors want coaching and two are now members.
We held a Skills Workshop in October with fifteen members attending.
Our annual Cliff n’ Dale was hosted by Drysdale in November- it was a very enjoyable visit and congratulations to Drysdale as winners.
The Golf Croquet Pennant season had Queenscliff finishing fourth on the ladder and I thank our team members for their contribution in this result.
The Searoad Ferries Tournament for players who have joined in the past twelve months was a great contest with excellent play. Aileen Molloy was the winner, and Jean Badenhop was the runner-up.
Congratulations to Roger Richmond for winning two games and a draw in the Terang Doubles Tournament.
Our Christmas lunch was on Saturday 2nd December in the Rip View Restaurant and was greatly enjoyed by members and visitors.
Attendances have been high over the summer months and we have hosted some visitors and have explained the game to passers-by over the fence!
Our thanks to the GCA for $500 with which we will purchase a set of first and second colour balls.
Plans are ongoing for construction of two new croquet courts which will hopefully begin in May. An apprentice greenkeeper has been employed as part of the plan.
